The Whole Business Concept
The Whole Business Concept™
While working with clients to implement
various process improvement initiatives, one issue became clear:
While the company may want the benefits of improving processes,
the culture of the organization may not be prepared to navigate
the waters of change. From this, the Whole Company Concept™
was developed.
The goal of the Whole Company Concept™ is to ensure that
changes made to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase
profitability are sustainable. To make them sustainable, an
organization needs to develop an atmosphere where change does
not create fear and desired outcomes are reasonable. In addition,
the culture should be one where employees feel their input is
valuable and that they have a vested interest in the success
of the company. Often we would see Six Sigma process improvement
teams identify issues supported by hard numbers only to be shot
down by managers who saw the numbers in conflict with their
“gut feelings.” This proved devastating to the teams
and ultimately to the entire program.
How does the Whole Company Concept™ deal with this? We
have put together a unique mix of tools and processes to dramatically
increase the success of organizations. The needs of each company
are different and we develop a unique solution for each company.
The solutions can be developed for a single division or for
the entire organization. We can provide an assessment of the
company to help identify areas for improvement, develop strategic
and business plans to lead to these improvements, work to develop
leadership skills at each level of the company, and implement
process improvement activities to reach the goals.
